REIMS WORKSHOP · PERSONAL AND BUSINESS DATA
Data recovery in France, wherever you are in Europe
A failed computer or unreadable drive does not tell the whole story. L'Atelier Electro investigates logical and electronic storage faults in Reims, France, before proposing a recovery. Tell us what happened and which files matter most: we will explain the next step and whether your device fits our workshop's scope.
Free enquiry. The linked form is in French. Do not attach private files or encryption keys.
- Free initial enquiry
- Recovery quoted separately
- Confidentiality discussed for your case
Technical expertise with a clear scope
Our work focuses on hard drives, SATA and NVMe SSDs, and external storage affected by logical or electronic faults. Diagnosis distinguishes a connection or electronics issue from damaged file structures and failures that require another type of intervention.
For a USB flash drive, memory card, NAS or RAID array, contact us before sending anything. Acceptance depends on the exact device and fault. We do not have an on-site cleanroom and do not open the mechanical drive assembly of hard disks.
Recover the files you actually need
For a household, the priority may be family photographs, personal documents or an unfinished project. For a business, it may be customer records, accounts, design files or a shared folder. Identify the important folders and the most recent backup before the assessment.
A computer that will not start does not necessarily have a failed storage device. Conversely, a drive that is detected can still contain unreadable files. Recovery prospects and the scope of restitution are assessed for each case; the outcome for an individual device cannot be guaranteed.
A targeted approach to the recovery budget
When the problem is logical or electronic and mechanical opening is unnecessary, a targeted workshop intervention can limit the budget compared with a case requiring specialist cleanroom work. These are different situations, so a lower price cannot be guaranteed for every failure.
The initial enquiry is free and requires no payment. For postal intake, the current French diagnostic and administration reference is €40.85 including French VAT: €39.90 for diagnosis and €0.95 for administration. The recovery itself is quoted separately. Applicable tax and the total are confirmed for your situation before payment.
How an approved postal case works
First describe the device, symptoms, country and any previous attempts. After acceptance, follow the packaging and identification instructions, then send the agreed equipment to our workshop in Reims. Keep the tracking number and your case reference.
Following assessment, you receive the proposed recovery scope and price before deciding. The €39.90 diagnostic portion is deductible from an accepted recovery; the €0.95 administration portion is not. A performed diagnostic remains payable if recovery is impossible or the quotation is declined.
European shipping: confirm both journeys
We can discuss intake from Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Spain, Italy and other European countries. Your contact is our workshop in Reims, France. Outbound and return shipping are always paid by the customer.
Contact us before dispatch, especially from the United Kingdom or Switzerland. Customs, tax, handling charges and the appropriate repair-and-return procedure may apply. Requirements also vary for special territories and devices containing batteries; do not assume that a standard parcel service accepts every device.
Confidentiality discussed before sending
Tell us in advance if your files are sensitive or subject to business obligations. Access arrangements, the authorised recipient, working copies, retention and the restitution method should be agreed for your case. A confidentiality agreement can be discussed before intake.
Do not upload client files, passwords or encryption keys into a general enquiry. If BitLocker or another encryption system is involved, say whether you have the recovery key and agree a suitable channel with the workshop. Recovery is not a promise to bypass encryption.
Protect your chances while asking for help
Avoid saving new files or installing recovery software on the affected source. Do not format or initialise a drive just because the computer suggests it. New unusual noises or impact damage on a hard drive call for assessment rather than repeated tests.
For a NAS or RAID, keep the drive order and configuration information, and seek advice before rebuilding or reinstalling. SSD deletion can be affected by TRIM and internal cleanup: some data may already be unrecoverable. The appropriate action depends on the device's condition.
Your questions, answered
Do I have to travel to Reims?
No. After acceptance, an agreed device can be sent by parcel. Both shipping journeys are at your expense.
Is the enquiry free?
Yes. The enquiry form does not require payment. Postal diagnosis is a separate paid step, with conditions and tax confirmed before payment.
Can every file be recovered?
No. Physical damage, overwritten data, SSD cleanup and unavailable encryption keys can prevent recovery. The assessment establishes what is realistically possible.
Which language is the enquiry form in?
The linked request and shipping forms are in French. Mention your preferred language in the request; communication arrangements can be agreed before sending the device.
